The Rouse Avenue Court on Tuesday granted bail to Delhi Minister Atishi in a defamation case filed by BJP leader Praveen Shankar Kapoor. She appeared physically and furnished the bail bond.
The Court granted bail to Atishi in the defamation matter on a bail bond of Rs 20,000. She was summoned in a defamation complaint filed by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Praveen Shankar Kapoor over leveling baseless allegations of 'poaching' AAP legislators.
CBI registered a case on complaint on July 21, 2024, against the accused Inspector, CGST, Tezpur and a private person (a middleman) of Balipara, Assam, on allegations that the accused demanded Rs 5 lakh from the complainant for the smooth functioning of his business of a hardware store.
"Since April 1 this year, 44 cases have got admitted. 25 cases are being treated. We have lost 10 cases and yesterday we lost 4 cases. rest of the cases are doing well and I believe that very soon we will be able to discharge those cases. Last year, we had 54 cases," Dr Abhijit Sarma said.
