Mumbai Police rescue kidnapped businessman, arrest 3

A 30-year-old man named Hemant Kumar Rawal, was rescued by the Mumbai Police after 12 hours of being kidnapped.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 23 (ANI): A 30-year-old man named Hemant Kumar Rawal was rescued by the Mumbai Police after being kidnapped for 12 hours.
Rawal, who was kidnapped over a business dispute, was found in the Pune district of Maharashtra on Saturday.
Three people, namely Kapooram Ghanchi, Prakash Pawar, and Ganesh Patra, were subsequently arrested in connection with the case.
According to LT Marg Police, Kapooram Ghanchi had started a textile business with Hemant Kumar Rawal.
Ghanchi supplied cloth to Rawal from Ahmedabad, and Rawal distributed it in Pune. However, when Rawal failed to pay Ghanchi Rs. 30 lakh for the goods for several months, Kapooram Ghanchi conspired to kidnap Rawal.
Three more accused were found to be involved in this crime, and efforts are underway to locate them.
All three accused were produced in court and sent to police custody till July 25.
In another shocking incident in Pune, a 27-year-old woman was allegedly beaten by a car driver on Baner-Pashan Road on Saturday afternoon.
The victim, who was riding a two-wheeler with two children, alleged that the driver followed her for 2 kilometers before the assault, leaving her with severe injuries and bleeding from her nose.
The woman has recorded a video detailing the incident and posted it on Instagram, seeking justice and raising concerns about women's safety in the city. The video has gone viral on social media.
Pune police have arrested the accused driver and another woman who was with him, booking them under sections 118(1), 74, 115(2), 352, and 3(5) of the BNS and the Motor Vehicle Act. The case has been registered at Chaturshrungi Police Station, and further investigations are underway.
Narrating the ordeal, the victim Jerlyn Dsilva said, "He was blocking me and wouldn't let me go. When the signal was red I tried to have a dialogue with him, to which he very aggressively took his window down and started abusing me. He started speeding his car behind me, he got out of his car and punched me straight that I got blank for ten seconds. His wife came out from the car, and she did not intervene." (ANI)
