Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has busted an inter-state gang of racketeers indulging in preparing and sending forged summons/ notices to the general public in the name of this Directorate for the purpose of extortion of money.
The perpetrators used fake seals of licence issuing officials and forged the signatures to prepare the fake arms licences and procured real weapons. This is of great danger to the security of the city as illegal weapons are in circulation and being used for various purposes by dubious means.
In a major crackdown on the drug trafficking cartels, NCB-Mumbai busted syndicates wherein multiple drugs were seized and four key associates were arrested, said officials on Wednesday.
