A part of a three-storey building collapsed in Delhi's Daryaganj area, near City Wall alongside Sadbhavna Park, killing three workers on the spot, Delhi Police said.
The accident has claimed the lives of three individuals, while three others sustained critical injuries and have been rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care.
The SDMA stated that 179 people have died since the beginning of the monsoon season. Of these, 101 fatalities are directly attributed to rain-related incidents, such as landslides, flash floods, and building collapses.
According to Geo News, 126 children have died since June 26 due to Pakistan's heavier-than-normal monsoon rains. The majority of the deaths occurred in Punjab, where rainfall levels have been reported as 70% higher than last year.
The incident occurred on Friday evening when a section of the ledge of the Cyber Tower in the Vibhuti Khand area of Gomti Nagar collapsed following heavy rain and strong winds, resulting in the death of a 24-year-old man.
The NDMA's data show that most deaths occurred due to flash floods, which have been the most hazardous part of this year's monsoon season. Other causes included building collapses and various weather-related accidents.
