Water gushed into homes in Assam's Morigaon district after flooding from an overflowing Brahmaputra river submerged several villages amid incessant rainfall in several parts of the state.
Following the rise in the water level of the Brahmaputra River, inundating surrounding areas, the Inland Water Transport Department, Assam has temporarily suspended the operation of all departmental boats, vessels in the Guwahati based ferry services.
The 100th cabinet meeting of the Himanta Biswa Sarma-led Assam government will be held Today at Brahmaputra State Guest House, Kharghuli in Guwahati, said an official statement from government of Assam.

According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), 114 villages under 4 revenue circles—Gogamukh, Dhemaji, Sissiborgaon, and Jonai—have been affected by the deluge.
The flood situation in Assam has again worsened as nearly 27, 000 people in six districts have been affected by the deluge and according to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA).
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Monday announced that very soon there will be a 32 km elevated road corridor in Kaziranga National Park and the state government will also construct a tunnel of Rs 4000 crores under the Brahmaputra river.
NRL is the largest refinery in northeast India, with a capacity of 3 million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA) and is currently implementing a mega refinery expansion project to triple its refining capacity to 9 MMTPA along with laying a trans-national crude oil pipeline from Paradip in Odisha
The official further said that the water is receding in the Kaziranga National & Park Tiger Reserve while the authorities were monitoring the flood situation.
Moreover, all major rivers in Assam are now flowing above the danger mark. Brahmaputra at Dhubri and Tezpur, while the Beki, Buridihing, and Sankosh rivers are flowing above the danger mark at Golakganj.
