14 villages of Simavarti Jivati tehsil of Chandrapur district, along the Maharashtra-Telangana border is claimed by both the states. Even a 10-room house is also divided among the two states.
The Home Minister chaired a meeting with Karnataka Chief Minister Basavraj Bommai and Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde regarding the Maharashtra-Karnataka border issue.
"A meeting with Maharashtra Chief Minister under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be held on December 14 or 15 over the border row between Karnataka and Maharashtra," said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

A meeting is underway between Union Home Minister Amit Shah and a delegation of MPs of Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) parties (comprising the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena, the NCP and the Congress) over the Karnataka-Maharashtra border issue.
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Supriya Sule in Lok Sabha slammed Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai over the border issue between Karnataka and Maharashtra and urged Home Minister Amit Shah to speak up regarding it.
"Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Eknath Shinde had a telephonic discussion with me, we both agreed that there should be peace and law and order to be maintained in both the states," tweeted Bommai.
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Chief Sharad Pawar on Tuesday said that Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde must take all the parties in confidence before taking any decision on the border dispute with Karnataka.
