Manipur Chief Minister Biren Singh on Monday confirmed that the colleges in the state will reopen on September 6 adding that the state government is committed to always keeping education on priority.
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh said on Monday that the state government has filed an FIR against the members of the Editors Guild who are trying to create more clashes in the state of Manipur.
After meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the national capital, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda and Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh left his residence.
"We take his advice all the time. After listening to PM Modi's and Amit Shah's statements in the Parliament there is peace in Manipur. This is routine work for the rehabilitation and settlement of displaced people. We are here to take the advice of the Home Minister," Biren Singh said while
Communist Party of India (Marxist) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury on Thursday demanded the sacking of Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh and said that situation in the state is dangerous.
"I wish you a very happy 77th Independence Day. I convey my message to the people of the state to restore peace and normalcy. I appeal to all to end violence and live together peacefully as before," Singh said after hoisting the National Flag at the First Manipur Parade Ground here.
As the Opposition is demanding the Centre to sack Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, Shah while replying to a no-confidence motion in Lom Sabha today said that the CM is cooperating with the Centre to restore peace there.
"DCW Chief Swati Maliwal and Member Vandana Singh left for Imphal from Delhi today morning and reached Manipur. Swati Maliwal has sought time from Manipur Governor and Chief Minister to discuss the issue," the release stated.
"I will directly go to the CM's Office. I want to meet chief minister, N Biren Singh. I want to meet the sexual abuse survivors and see if they have got legal aid, counselling or any compensation," Maliwal said while speaking to ANI after landing at Imphal airport.
