Speaking to ANI over phone, president of Sagarmatha Pollution control committee, Lama Kaji Sherpa, said, "Their body has been located. An avalanche that struck the Khumbu icefall area swept them off after they reached the Camp 1 area."
The incident happened in the middle of the day at the Armancette glacier, at the altitude of around 3,500 meters (11,500 feet). The glacier is located in the Haute-Savoie region, some 30 kilometres (almost 20 miles) southwest of Chamonix.

Officials of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) on Wednesday resumed the rescue operation on Jawaharlal Nehru road in East Sikkim, where a massive avalanche came yesterday, claiming the lives of at least seven people and leaving several trapped under the snow.
Taking to Twitter, Jaishankar said, "The news of deaths and injuries due to catastrophic avalanche in Sikkim is deeply distressing. Condolences to the bereaved families. Wish the injured a speedy recovery."
The deceased have been identified as Shiva Psd Lamichaney, Ashika Dhakal, Rebya Singh, Bal Singh, Sourav Roy Chaudhary, Pritam Matiy and Muna Shah Shrestra.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed his condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives in the tragic avalanche in Sikkim, saying he was "distressed" by the mishap.
Shah took to Twitter to condole the loss of lives and assured that the teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) will reach the affected area soon.
Seven persons were killed and many are feared trapped after an avalanche hit a site near Sikkim's Nathu La mountain pass on Tuesday, the Army said in a statement.
The avalanche occurred on Tuesday around 12:20 pm. The six people succumbed to the injuries in a nearby Army Hospital include 4 males, one female and a child.
