The cumulative loss report, covering June 20 to August 21, 2025, shows that rain-related deaths were caused by landslides, flash floods, cloudbursts, drowning, lightning, fire, snake bites, avalanches, electrocutions, falls from steep slopes, and other mishaps.

The Indian Army concluded the search and rescue operations at the Mana area of the Chamoli district in Uttarakhand on Sunday. These operations were part of the relief efforts to rescue the trapped Border Roads Organisation (BRO) workers after the avalanche on February 28.
Brigadier MS Dhillon, Commander IBEX Brigade, said that eight people died after a Border Road Organisation (BRO) camp in Mana was struck by an avalanche.
Speaking in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, Pradhan emphasised that all Indian languages have equal rights and should be taught uniformly. He clarified that the NEP's three-language policy doesn't impose Hindi as the sole language, contrary to concerns raised by some in Tamil Nadu.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday offered his condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased Border Road Organisation (BRO) workers who lost their lives in the avalanche that hit Uttarakhand's Chamoli district on February 28.
"All 54 persons have now been rescued or recovered. This marks the culmination of the Mana Village Rescue Operation," said Lt Col Manish Shrivastava, PRO (Defence), Dehradun.
In Dehradun, PRO Defence Lt Colonel Manish Shrivastava told ANI, "...Three bodies were recovered today and brought to Mana and now sent to Joshimath... We hope we will rescue the remaining one soon."
AIIMS Rishikesh and the Army Hospital in Joshimath are actively treating injured individuals, with some patients in critical condition requiring intensive care.
