Slain gangster Atiq Ahmed's brother-in-law Akhlaq Ahmed, a health department doctor allegedly involved in unethical activities, has been suspended by the Uttar Pradesh government.
"I have examined myself, bloodstains, the knife was found near the staircase and next to the kitchen Atiq's office," Satyendra Prasad Tiwari, Prayagraj Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP).

In a startling claim, the Uttar Pradesh Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dharmpal Singh on Saturday, alleged that the Opposition parties are behind the killing of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed because he was going to "reveal many secrets".
Talking about the investigation going on in the case, Chautala said, "The judicial inquiry into the Atiq-Ashraf murder case is going on. It is unfortunate that such a murder happened in the presence of the police."
Reacting to slogans glorifying slain Uttar Pradesh gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed after offering prayers, Union Minister Ashwini Choubey said that such people should be shot at sight and Bihar needs Yogi's model of government.
