Polling for 70 assembly seats began on Wednesday morning in Delhi, as voters cast their ballots for the 8th Assembly amid tight security. Voting commenced at 7.00 am and will continue till 6.00 pm, officials said.
In Maharashtra, the BJP won 132 seats, Shiv Sena, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde won 57 seats, and the NCP, led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, won 41 seats. The state has 288 assembly seats.

With Trinamool Congress (TMC) set to register a clean sweep in West Bengal bye-elections and won four out of six Assembly seats till 2.30 pm, TMC general secretary Abhishek Banerjee congratulated all six party candidates even as the counting is underway for remaining two seats.
