The Delhi High Court on Wednesday reserved the order on a bail plea moved by Bibhav Kumar, aide of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, in the Swati Maliwal alleged assault case. The court fixed July 12 for the pronouncement of the order.
Kejriwal stated that the argument raised by the ED that 'irrelevant materials have been considered' will not only be tantamount to dictating to the Court as to the course to be adopted but also demonstrate an element of arrogance that has crept into the mind of this particular investigating
Recently, the trial court dismissed his plea, claiming he is facing about 30 litigations throughout the country and requires two additional meetings with his lawyers through video conferencing to discuss the cases, claiming his right to a fair trial.
Delhi police had sought 10 days judicial custody of Bibhav Kumar. Advocate Karan Sharma counsel for the accused appeared through video conferencing. He opposed the judicial custody plea of Delhi police.
Kejriwal's plea submitted that the arrest of the petitioner is in clear violation of the statutory mandate as prescribed under Section 41 and 60A CrPC.
