The 21-member multi-party delegation of MPs of the Opposition’s Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) that was in Manipur over the weekend to assess the situation in the strife-torn state since May 3 returned to New Delhi on Sunday.
The 21-member delegation of the grand Opposition alliance, on Saturday, arrived on a two-day visit to the state, which has seen ethnic strife and violence since May 3.
Janata Dal (United) MP Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh on Sunday said that the people of the Kuki and Meitei communities in Manipur are facing a “sense of insecurity” and have a “lack of confidence” in the state government.

As per the video, the Governor can be seen walking up to the grief-stricken woman and consoling her. During her visit to the relief camps, several dispaced locals asked when peace would return to the state.
A 21-member delegation from the Opposition grand alliance — I.N.D.I.A — on Saturday arrived in Imphal as part of a two-day visit to violence-hit Manipur.
Even as the 21-member delegation of Opposition leaders was due to arrive shortly in Manipur, Governor Anusuiya Uikey on Saturday urged the visiting I.N.D.I.A leaders to contribute to the restoration of peace and order to the violence-hit Northeast.
Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey was apprised of the prevailing condition of violence-affected people who have been staying in different relief camps both in hills and valley areas in the State.
The team informed the Governor that they have visited various relief camps in Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Kakching and Thoubal districts and met people and inquired about the facilities that are being provided to them.
"DCW Chief Swati Maliwal and Member Vandana Singh left for Imphal from Delhi today morning and reached Manipur. Swati Maliwal has sought time from Manipur Governor and Chief Minister to discuss the issue," the release stated.
"Four main accused arrested in the Viral Video Case: 03 (three) more main accused of the heinous crime of abduction and gangrape under Nongpok Sekmai PS, Thoubal District have been arrested today. So a total 04 (four) persons have been arrested till now," Manipur Police tweeted.
