Amaravathi police has detained Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders who were on their way to sand dunes in a protest against alleged looting of Rs 40,000 crore worth of sand in the past four years
A total of ten people were injured after a private travel bus overturned on National Highway 65 near the suburb of Thotacharla village in the NTR district, an official said on Friday.
Bapatla district SP Vakul Jindal said, "Chirala rural CI along with his staff caught the people supplying ganja at Rajiv Swagruha Colony near Vetapalem bypass and seized 55 kg from them and arrested 27 accused who are involved in the supply of ganja."
Madakam Deva alias Bhagat played various roles for over 17 years and is accused in more than 12 serious crimes including an attack on Salvajudem Camp by Maoists of Injaram Village.
Andhra Pradesh police on Saturday, arrested three people for allegedly committing theft by breaking the locks of houses in Nellore area here, said the police.

Andhra Pradesh Police on Monday seized 240 kg of cannabis and arrested eight people at Sullurupeta in Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh that was planned to be dispatched to Sri Lanka.
The three accused have been identified as Yong Lui Xing, Choo Kai Lun, and Thiagarajan Kasi, all hailing from Malaysia.
Police said that the matter came to their attention when a victim committed suicide after falling into the loan scam operated by the accused.
"A gang selling narcotic injections was put under surveillance. Eight people were arrested. Seven thousand injections of narcotic drugs from their possession. They were caught in three cases within two days," Visakhapatnam CP Trivikram Varma said.
"An unknown vehicle hit an auto going which was going towards Tuni from Addu road. After getting hit by the unknown vehicle, Auto immediately ran into a bike which was coming from the opposite side," the police official said.
