In a significant boost to the country's sports ecosystem, India has been recommended the hosting rights for the 2030 Commonwealth Games, with Ahmedabad, Gujarat, recommended as the host city for the Centenary Edition of the Games, according to an official press release.
Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya on Wednesday hailed the Commonwealth Sport's Executive Board's decision to recommend Ahmedabad as the proposed host city for the Centenary Commonwealth Games in 2030 and said it is a proud milestone for the country.
Highlighting the steady decline in Naxal-affected regions, Shah said that the number of the most affected districts had dropped from six to three, while the total number of affected districts had fallen to 11 from 18.
