Manesar (Haryana) [India], October 14 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday praised the National Security Guard's (NSG) efforts in fighting a formidable battle against terrorism for the past four decades.
Referring to the demonstrations shown of NSG in action, Shah said that it leaves the country satisfied that its security and fight against terrorism are in safe hands.
"With these three principles: Sarvatra, Sarvottam, Suraksha, and by making Samarpan, Saahas, and Rashtrabhakti, its hallmarks, the NSG has fought a formidable battle against organised crime and terrorism in this country for four decades. After seeing the demonstration, we have all just witnessed, every citizen of the country leaves with the satisfaction in their hearts and minds that we, our security, and the fight against terrorism are in very safe hands," Shah said while addressing a gathering at the 41st Raising Day of the National Security Guard (NSG) in Haryana's Manesar.
Shah said that the Special Operation Training Centre (SOTC), which was inaugurated today, was not only for the NSG but also to train state police forces.
"I want to tell all the state police forces that the Special Operation Training Centre inaugurated today is not only for NSG, but it will train all of you to train. We are going to make big changes in the role of NSG. NSG' new hub is being stationed in Ayodhya. With this, all six such hubs of NSG, known as SSG, will help in mitigating any terror attack," the Union Home Minister added.
He further said, "From scrapping Article 370, we have attacked the key points of terrorists. We have made it clear that India's security agencies are determined to eliminate terrorists and their agenda."
Shah informed that the SOTC was inaugurated after an expenditure of Rs 141 crore, and it will provide state-of-the-art training for commandos to combat terrorism.
"Today, the foundation stone was laid for the Special Operations Training Centre (SOTC). At a cost of Rs 141 crore, this eight-acre site will house state-of-the-art training for commandos and special commandos to combat terrorism. We all know that in such a vast country, the central government alone cannot combat terrorism. NSG has bravely and with its own strength protected the nation since 1984 in Operation Ashwamedh, Operation Sarvashakti, Operation Dhangu, the Akshardham attack, the Mumbai attack, and numerous other national crises," the Union Home Minister said.
Shah added, "Six NSG hubs have already been established in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, the Jammu Task Force, and now, Ayodhya. NSG commandos will be deployed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A zone will be designated for them around that centre, and the Special Composite Group will be available to respond to any sudden terrorist attack on that zone." (ANI)
