The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday issued a red alert in Malappuram District and an orange alert for seven districts of Kerala for heavy rains.

"It is a multi-tier security. As per the security protocols, the high-alert security arrangement has been made here," IGP Kashmir Zone Vidhi Kumar Birdi told ANI on Wednesday.
Chief Scientist, India Meteorological Department, Sunil Kamble said that for the coming two to three days, the Yellow alert for rain has been issued in Mumbai, Thane, and Raigad areas.
