On Saturday and Sunday night, customs officials caught six individuals with gold paste concealed either inside their bodies or in the check-in baggage.
According to an official press release by the NIA, "The accused identified as Ratheesh, a resident of Kerala's Kannur district had been absconding in the Trivandrum gold smuggling case in which 30 kg of the contraband was seized in 2020."
According to the Mumbai Customs official, the gold dust, valued at Rs 1,05,27,331, was concealed in the undergarments of the couple and their three-year-old child.

Delhi Airport customs on Wednesday said it arrested eight passengers after recovering 5.319 kgs of gold estimated to be Rs 2. 93 crores at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
The detailed examination of the baggage and personal search of the passengers resulted in the recovery of foreign currency (USD 7,20,000/- & Euro 4,66,200/-) from the three passengers which is equivalent to Rs 10,06,78,410, Customs department said in a statement.
