BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal on Sunday questioned the ruling Aam Admi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal over the steps his party has taken to reduce pollution in Delhi.

Hitting out at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over Delhi's rising air pollution, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai on Saturday said that BJP creates pollution and understands that only drama can reduce it.

The Supreme Court on October 23 criticised the Haryana and Punjab governments for failure to take action against stubble burning in the states and said it is a fundamental right of all citizens to live in a clean and pollution-free environment.

The Chief Justice of India stated that he has stopped going for morning walks because of the rising levels of air pollution."I have stopped going out for morning walks due to the rising levels of air pollution in the national capital," he said.
With the national capital facing 'very poor' air quality, Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena wrote a letter to Chief Minister Atishi on Thursday regarding Delhi's pollution, and called for using Civil Defence Volunteers (CDV) to help with pollution mitigation.
The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has invoked the Stage II GRAP Action Plan across the National Capital Region. This includes carrying out mechanical/vacuum sweeping and water sprinkling of the identified roads on a daily basis.
