The Azamgarh Police has recovered the body of the deceased who was identified as Aradhana Prajapati, while the main accused in the case was identified as Prince Yadav.
The accused, identified by the police as Sharik, has been admitted to the Father Muller Hospital in Karnataka's Mangaluru after he sustained 40-45 per cent burn injuries due to a fire that broke out in an autorickshaw in the Kankanadi police station area at around 5 pm on Saturday.
This has come days after the parents of the 2012 Chhawla gangrape victim met Delhi LG VK Saxena and requested him to file a review petition against the acquittal of all three accused.
The matter came to light on Sunday when the foul smell started emanating from the car in which the body was kept. Police arrested the accused and started the probe.
