Hamid Khan, uncle of the deceased brothers, shared details after the incident: "It was a 'kuccha' house of two storeys and an entire wall fell on them," he said.
As per the police officials, three people died in the incident, and one is injured. According to officials, the fire department received a call about the incident at 6:05 PM.
The vehicle, which was travelling from Dhumakot to Apola, suddenly lost control and plunged into a gorge. There were two people on board at the time of the accident.
According to Senior Police Inspector Mansingh Patil from Kalepadal Police Station, the accident happened around 3 am when an unidentified car hit the bike. The driver fled the scene, and the Pune Police registered a case and launched an investigation to track down the accused.
Superintendent of Police (SP), BJ Chaudhary spoke to media on the incident and said, "Three people have lost their lives, and one injured person has been admitted to hospital for treatment. All the people living in the flat have been evacuated."
A statement from the disaster management cell identified the deceased as Vijay Nandlal (50), and Arun Jeevanlal Chormar (41). Whereas the injured worker has been identified as Shankar Sahadev Vishwakarma (56). All three workers are permanent employees at the mines.
"Labourers feared trapped at an iron-making factory in Sargaon, Mungeli after the silo structure of the factory collapsed. One injured labourer has been admitted to a hospital. Police and Administration are present at the spot. Rescue operation is underway," said Mungeli Collector Rahul D
