"Our target is to win around 70-80 per cent of seats in the municipal elections. There is a wave in favour of Congress as we saw the panchayat election results where he won 73 per cent seats. In Urban (areas) there is more of an effect, because of ration card, giving houses to people, giving 200 units of free electricity to muslim basti's. So we hope that the schemes have a positive (effect) on the Congress," party leader Mohammad Ali Shabbir told ANI after the meeting.
Delhi Police arrests suspects in Mangolpuri stabbing case
"We were people in the park when a few men came, one of them was from our block. I noticed he had a scarf wrapped around him, so I asked. Meanwhile, two of my friends entered the park. As soon as the other men, scattered around the park, saw them, they tried to attack one of them, Jatin, with a knife. He dodged and saved himself... then they moved on to Akash. Because the park was slippery, he lost his balance and fell on the ground, and the men attacked him. I resisted by throwing stones at them, so they began to move towards me. We utilised the moment and ran out of the park. We stopped at a house, and an uncle began hitting those men to save us....there were 7-8 of them, and all of them had 2 knives each and a pistol," he explained.

A man was found dead with stabbing injuries in Goudavelli village under Medchal police station limits in Medchal-Malkajgiri district on Wednesday night. The police have reached the spot and are investigating the matter, Medchal police said.
Three died after a private bus collided with an oncoming lorry
Madhusudan, an inspector at Sirivellametta, told ANI, "A private bus suffered a tyre burst and collided with an oncoming lorry, resulting in the death of three people near Sirivellametta in Nandyal district. The bus driver, the lorry driver, and the cleaner were burnt alive in the accident. Soon after the collision, the bus caught fire. A local DCM driver broke the bus windows, helping 36 passengers escape safely and saving their lives."Three people died in the accident, four sustained serious injuries and were shifted to the hospital, while eight others suffered minor injuries."
