Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], January 22 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh state's Women Commission chairperson, Babita Singh Chauhan, has declined to comment on the divorce case between Vice Chairperson Aparna Yadav and her husband, Prateek Yadav, citing it as a "private family matter."
Speaking to ANI, Chauhan said that Aparna Yadav, a BJP leader and Mulayam Singh Yadav's daughter-in-law, has not approached the commission regarding the issue.
"I think it is her family matter, and it is a small matter. Regarding the Women's Commission, she herself is part of it, so she makes decisions here. I think she can handle her own matters. She has not approached the commission with this; she can make her own decisions," the chairperson told ANI. Aparna Yadav is the vice chairperson of the UP Women's Commission.
"If anything happens, then we will discuss it, but I don't think she has said anything of that sort; she is capable and can handle her own matters," she added.
This comes after a social media post on Instagram, in which Prateek Yadav announced his intention to divorce Aparna, alleging she ruined his family ties and prioritised fame over relationships, adding that she "had broken his relationship with his family members, and is the biggest liar that I have seen in his life."
Prateek Yadav alleged that she is a "family destroyer" and wants to "divorce this selfish woman as soon as possible."
"Broke my relationship with my mother. Broke my relationship with my father. Broke my relationship with my brother. Wants to be famous. The biggest liar that I have seen in my life (I swear to my child). Biggest self-interested person I have ever seen," Prateek Yadav posted on Instagram on his handle.
In another post, while posting Aparna Yadav's picture with the label 'family destroyer', her husband alleged that he wants to divorce her "as soon as possible" and that she just wants to "become famous and influential."
"I am going to divorce this selfish woman as soon as possible. She ruined my family ties. All she wants to become is famous and influential. Right now, I am (in) very bad mental health condition and she doesn't bother. Because it's only herself she bothers about," the post read.
"I have never seen such a bad soul, and I was unfortunate to get married to her," the post alleged.
The vice chairperson or her family members have not issued a statement on the matter as of yet. (ANI)
