Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK chief MK Stalin was not willing to grant Congress more than 25 seats in the seat-sharing formula of the state's ruling alliance for the upcoming Assembly polls, sources said on Monday.

The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a plea filed by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy challenging the Andhra Pradesh government's decision to appoint a one-member committee to examine the report of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the alleged adulteration of ghee used in preparing 'prashadam laddus' at the Tirupati Temple in Tirumala.

To mark the commencement of the inaugural flight, a ceremonial lamp-lighting was held at Lokapriya Gopinath Bardoloi International Airport in the presence of Bhavin Joshi, Co-Founder and Senior Vice President - Strategy, Akasa Air, along with senior representatives of Guwahati Airport, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony.

Devuji, a top commander and senior functionary of the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist), laid down arms along with 16 other Maoists, including Central Committee member Rajireddy.

A key highlight of the event was the inauguration of the VOC Maritime Heritage Museum, an immersive institution dedicated to India's maritime legacy and the contribution of freedom fighter V.O. Chidambaranar. The museum has been conceived as a cultural and educational landmark for southern Tamil Nadu and is expected to promote tourism, community engagement and awareness of the Coromandel Coast's maritime history.

Speaking in the Assembly on the adulterated milk incident, the Chief Minister said the government has ordered a comprehensive inquiry into the tragedy. He stated that strict action will be taken if the contamination is found to be intentional and assured that the government will not remain negligent.
