New Delhi, Nov 19 (ANI): The United States nuclear commander John Hyten said he would resist President Donald Trump if he ordered an ‘illegal’ launch of nuclear weapons. Air Force General John Hyten, commander of the U.S. Strategic Command (STRATCOM), told an audience at the Halifax International Security Forum in Nova Scotia, Canada that he had given a lot of thought to what he would say if he received such an order. "I think some people think we're stupid, we’re not stupid people. We think about these things a lot. When you have this responsibility, how do you not think about it”? said Hyten. Hyten, who is responsible for commanding U.S. nuclear arsenal, said that it’s his duty to advise the president, however if the president orders him to do something ‘illegal’, he will say that’s its illegal and they will together come to a suitable conclusion according to the situation. Hyten stressed on saying that through his 36-year-long career, it was a standard practice to analyse how to react in the event of an illegal order.
