New Delhi, February 02 (ANI): Within days of taking the Oval Office, United States President Donald Trump has taken bold actions against those posing threats to America in any manner. In yet another move, Donald Trump ordered military airstrikes on the Senior Islamic State attack planner and other members of the militant group, killing many of them in Somalia, said POTUS on Social Media. Taking to Social Media, Donald Trump said, "These killers, who we found hiding in caves, threatened the United States and our Allies. The strikes destroyed the caves they live in, and killed many terrorists without, in any way, harming civilians." The information minister for Puntland state in northern Somalia said the United States attack struck in the Cal Miskaad Mountains, part of the Golis range, and targeted Islamic State bases. "The number of casualties is still unknown as it was dark. But our forces on the frontline could hear the sound of explosions,” the minister, Mohamud Aidid Dirir, told Reuters. The 47th United States President conveyed his ‘clear’ message to ISIS and all others who would attack Americans saying, “We Will Find You, And We Will Kill You!” Donald Trump also slammed the Biden Administration over its laziness in acting to get the job done which he did himself. The strikes came just days after Interpol announced the arrest of several suspected members of Islamic State in east Africa. The arrests occurred amid mounting concerns over a possible resurgence of the ISIS militant group, after the ousting of Bashar Al-Assad in Syria. The Somali president's office said President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud was informed of the airstrike, and he wrote on X that he extended his deepest gratitude for "the unwavering support of the United States in its shared fight against terrorism". Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth said that the strikes degraded Islamic State's ability to plot and carry out attacks that threaten the United States, its partners and innocent civilians. "It sends a clear signal that the United States always stands ready to find and eliminate terrorists who threaten the United States and our allies, even as we conduct robust border-protection and many other operations under President Trump’s leadership," he said in a statement. It is noteworthy that the United States has periodically carried out airstrikes in Somalia for years, under Republican and Democratic administrations.
