Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Dec 21 (ANI): Polling for the much-hyped RK Nagar constituency kicked off on Thursday morning at 8a.m. Bypolls for the seat were necessitated as the constituency fell vacant after the death of AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa in last December. Campaigning for the high-stake bypoll came to an end yesterday while counting of votes will be held on December 24. AIADMK's E. Madhusudhanan, independent candidate TTV Dinakaran and DMK's N. Marudhu Ganesh are among the top contenders for the seat. The bypoll was earlier scheduled for April earlier this year, but was cancelled following allegations that sums of money were distributed in a vote-for-cash scam.
