Washington DC (USA): PM Modi, Prez Joe Biden shared a few carefree minutes during the state dinner at the White House on June 22. Meanwhile, PM Modi burst into laughter as both leaders raised a ‘no alcoholic’ toast to their successful meeting. Joe Biden, who is a teetotaller like PM Modi, shared his grandfather’s advice on how to raise a toast if you don’t have any alcohol in the glass. The guests present in the audience broke into laughter at President Joe Biden’s remarks. Later, President Biden raised a toast to the India-US partnership, stating “Toast to two great friends, two great Nation”. Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked President Biden and specially FLOTUS Jill Biden for their meticulous planning. The lavish State Dinner took place in South Lawn draped in greens and saffron, honouring the colours of the Indian flag.
