UNHRC 49th Session: Activists demand recognition of 1971 Bangladeshi genocide by Pak

Geneva (Switzerland), Mar 26, 2022, (ANI): Bangladeshi activists held a demonstration outside UNHRC office in Geneva. Activists demanded the 1971 Bangladesh genocide be recognised by international community. Activists also asked for reparations from Pakistan. They shouted slogans hailing Bangladesh's unity Activists said that Pakistan should apologise for the atrocities it carried out in 1971.As per Bangladesh, over 3 million people were killed in the ‘1971 genocide’. It was the joint Indo-Bangladesh military response that defeated Pakistan army. Pakistan army surrendered to Indian forces on 16th Dec. 1971 and Bangladesh was liberated.
