UK’s Gravesend boasts of one of the largest Gurdwara complex

Gravesend (United Kingdom), Jul 22 (ANI): The Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara situated on the Guru Nanak Marg in Gravesend, United Kingdom is the largest Gurdwara outside India. The Gurdwara was opened in November 2010 and cost £15 million to construct including its regular maintenance. This Gurdwara is a matter of pride for British Sikhs. The Gurdwara set up their own construction company, GNG Construction Ltd, to take advantage of skills that existed in the local community. The detailed stonework and woodcarving, specialist companies in India were identified to provide the relevant expertise. The premises earlier hosted a Church. It is the largest Gurdwara complex in Gravesend and is one of the largest in the UK. The complex hosts various function like prayer meets, weddings, lectures and more on its massive premises.
