Ukraine crisis: Indian Embassy sets up control room in Hungary to coordinate evacuation process

Budapest (Hungary), Mar 06 (ANI): With Operation Ganga being carried out on a war-footing basis, the Embassy of India has set up a control room in Budapest, Hungary. The officials will coordinate the evacuation of Indians stranded in Ukraine. Government machinery is working round the clock to evacuate Indian Nationals from war-torn country. Rajiv Bodwade the Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India in Israel deputed on special duty said that more than 150 volunteers helping in the evacuation process. “We have teams at Hungary-Ukraine border giving us info on how many Indians are crossing border, other teams looking after accommodations, transport etc. More than 150 volunteers helping us,” he added. Prime Minister Modi deputed four top-level ministers to go to neighboring countries of Ukraine to supervise Operation Ganga. Russian forces launched military operations in Ukraine on February 24.
