Uber hack concealment raises 'huge concerns'

New Delhi, Nov 22 (ANI): The international taxi service, Uber suffered a massive data breach exposing the personal data of 57 million customers and drivers last year, which the company concealed for more than a year. The agency said it had 'huge concerns' about the data policies and ethics of the ride-hailing firm. Uber failed to notify the incidents to individuals or to affected customers, but instead paid $100,000 to "hackers" to get rid of the data in order to keep the breach under wraps. Uber's new CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said, he recently found out about the hack which happened in October 2016 when Travis Kalanick was in charge. The maximum fine in Britain for failing to notify users about data breaches is currently just over $660,000.
