Hatay (Turkey) Feb 08 (ANI): Multiple earthquakes rattled Turkiye and Syria killing thousands of people in both countries. As per the latest report, over 5000 people have been killed in the devastating natural disaster. The death toll is continuously rising and WHO fears that it may surpass the 20,000 mark. As per AFAD, 13,740 search and rescue personnel have been deployed in the earthquake region in Hatay. The rescue personnel were seen rescuing the survivors with bare hands who were trapped under the debris. Lacking any sophisticated equipment, rescue teams were aided by uniformed soldiers. They pulled out several people alive from the rubble after over 30 hours since the earthquake hit Turkey on Feb 06. Hatay, which borders northwest Syria, is the worst-hit province in Turkey with at least 872 people being killed. India has also sent rescue and medical teams in coordination with the Govt of Turkiye.
