Washington, D.C., Nov 21 (ANI): White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders defended President Trump's tweet on the UCLA players saying it was a 'rhetorical response' to criticism by the father of one of the players. Sanders says was 'happy to intervene' to help secure the release of three UCLA basketball players who had been detained in China on suspicion of shoplifting. Sanders said Trump's tweet that he should have left them in jail was merely a 'rhetorical response' to criticism from LaVar Ball, the father of LiAngelo Ball, who downplayed the president's involvement in the athletes' release.
