Trump Excludes India from tariffs, targets Mexico, Canada, and China in major trade move

Proving his mettle, Donald Trump is set to become President of the United States once again after historic victory. On November 13, Donald Trump expanded his cabinet with key announcements to run the US Government after coming to power. As the US President-elect Donald Trump, is set to take the charge on January 2025, he announced his plans to impose tariffs on China, Mexico, and Canada. Trump on November 25, said he would impose tariffs on Canada and Mexico until they clamped down on drugs and migrants crossing the border. Notably Trump stated, he would sign an executive order imposing a 25 per cent tariff on all goods from Mexico and Canada, and an additional 10 per cent on Chinese imports. However, President Trump has excluded India from his initial plans to impose the tariffs. Reacting to the Trump’s call, Former President Biden has appealed him to re-think on his decision on tariffs on Mexico and Canada. Meanwhile, Mexico's President Claudia Sheinbaum November 27, she did not specifically discuss tariffs in a call she held with Trump. Following this, she added the two had agreed there would be good relations between the two nations.
