Thailand’s King marries his bodyguard days before coronation

New Delhi, May 02 (ANI): Thailand’s King Maha Vajiralongkorn on Wednesday, in a surprise move, married the deputy head of his personal bodyguard force, General Suthida Vajiralongkorn Na Ayudhya, and gave her the title Queen Suthida. The wedding came just days before the King’s coronation. Footage from the wedding was later shown in the nightly Royal News segment on all Thai television channels. Vajiralongkorn, 66, also known by the title King Rama X, became constitutional monarch in 2016 following the death of his father King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who had ruled for 70 years.
