Sikh boy attacked in Kent city, EAM Swaraj seeks report from Indian Embassy in US

Washington (D.C.), Nov 05 (ANI): In a horrific incident, a 14-year-old Sikh boy was punched and knocked down by his classmate in Washington D.C. Reacting on the incident, a local resident claimed that Sikhs are often targeted because they are of Indian descent and particularly because they are confused with Muslims. The boy was beaten less than a block outside of the city's Kentridge High School last week. The entire incident was recorded and posted on Snapchat. Responding immediately to the incident, Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj sought a report from the Indian Embassy in the US. "I have seen news reports about the beating of a Sikh boy in US. I have asked @IndianEmbassyUS to send me a report on the incident," Sushma Swaraj tweeted.
