Gilgit Baltistan, 27 December, 2022: - Roads were blocked and Pakistan armed forces were confronted in the illegally occupied region of Minawar in Gilgit Baltistan as massive demonstrations broke out in the wake of what locals termed illegal grabbing of their property by Pakistan authorities. They shouted anti-government slogans and demanded immediate eviction of the Pakistan army and other forces from their land. Locals accused that occupying their land in the name of national security or development projects had become a convenient tool for the authorities to evade scrutiny. They said a large-scale campaign had been launched by the authorities to take over their properties.
