Shivangi Pathak becomes youngest Indian woman to scale Everest, PM Modi says “stupendous accomplishment”

Kathmandu (Nepal), May 22 (ANI): At the age of 16, Shivangi Pathak became the youngest Indian Mount Everest summiteer. She successfully climbed the length from the Nepal side, last week. Speaking about her inspiration, Pathak said, “I saw a biopic of Arunima Sinha when I was 15. I felt if she is able to do it, I can as well. I did not have interest in studies so decided to choose mountaineering.” Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the young girl via his official Twitter handle, saying “Stupendous accomplishment. Congratulations to Shivangi!” Pathak who completed her course in mountaineering from Delhi’s Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports (JIM&WS) wants to use this opportunity to motivate women that they can achieve anything that they set they hearts to.
