Sharif Osman Hadi’s killing triggers violent unrest, pushing Bangladesh to the brink

Dhaka (Bangladesh): Dec 19, 2025, (ANI): Dhaka and other cities in Bangladesh erupted into violent unrest following the killing of youth leader Sharif Osman Hadi. The 32-year-old spokesperson of Inquilab Mancha, who played a key role in overthrowing former PM Sheikh Hasina’s government, was shot in the head while launching his election campaign. Protesters targeted media houses, including the Chhayanaut building and the main office in Dhanmondi, and vandalized Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s partially demolished residence.
