Russia's Nuclear, Biological & Chemical Protection Forces Chief Igor Kirillov killed in bomb blast

Moscow (Russia) December 17 (ANI): In a tragic incident, a senior Russian general in charge of nuclear protection forces was killed in an explosion on Dec 17. Lt Gen Igor Kirillov chief of Russia's Nuclear, Biological & Chemical Protection Troops was killed after the bomb hidden in e-scooter exploded. The incident took place outside an apartment building on Ryazansky Prospekt; However, investigation into matter is underway. While a criminal case has been opened, Reuters footage from the scene showed a police cordon. Photographs posted on Russian Telegram channels showed shattered entrance to building littered with rubble & 2 bodies lying in blood-stained snow. Earlier in Oct, Britain sanctioned Kirillov & nuclear protection forces for using riot control agents. Kirillov and the forces have also been alleged of using the toxic choking agent chloropicrin on the battlefield. RKhBZ are special forces that operate under conditions of radioactive, chemical and biological contamination.
