Russian Students grasping ‘Indian Language’ culture in Moscow

Moscow (Russia), June 3, 2022, (ANI/ TV BRICS): The popularity of Indian culture is growing in Russia where more and more students are selecting Hindi and Tamil to study. In that line, the International Centre for South Asian Studies has been operating on the basis of the Russian University for humanities for more than 20 years. The International centre for south Asian studies was founded in 2010. Its specialists combine knowledge in the field of history, international relations and political science. The students of the centre have the opportunity to study at universities in India. Language courses are also held regularly. These are 3rd year students - classes are held in the office named after Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru. The walls are decorated with photos of students on India trips, as well as books and souvenirs. There is also a RajasthanI doll - guriya. And the spinning wheel - charkha, which students brought from Gandhi’s village. The philosopher spun his clothes on a similar one. Now Hindi is studied by regional studies and political science students. The field is very promising. Around the world, it is now fashionable to study the Tamil language too. This is due to a huge literary tradition. Tamil is the second classical language of India after Sanskrit. Tamil is characterised by bilingualism. Universities study the literary norm on the basis of ancient Tamil. There is also a spoken form. The most difficult to grasp is the speed of spoken language. Tamil is the officially recognised classical language of India. It is the second state language of sri lanka. In terms of the number of speakers, it is in 20th place in the world.
