Moscow (Russia), Dec 26 (ANI): The opposition leader and critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Alexei Navalny was barred from contesting presidential edition scheduled in March 2018. The country's central election commission decided to bar him for his ineligibility as the president due to his past criminal record. Alexei Navalny is a sharp critique of Vladimir Putin and he has been jailed three times this year for holding public meetings breaking the law by repeatedly organizing public meetings and rallies. The renowned campaigner against corruption has urged his supporters to boycott elections. Vladimir Putin is expected to win once again and retain power 17 years in a row.
