Toronto (Canada), Feb 08 (ANI): Tibetans, Uyghurs and Hongkongers staged massive demonstrations in Canada’s Toronto against ongoing Beijing Winter Olympics in China. They held placards, banners that read ‘Boycott China’s Genocide Olympics 2022’. They chanted slogans “Shame International Olympic Committee, Shame China Free Tibet, Free Hong Kong, Free East Turkistan”. The protests were held at multiple locations including downtown Toronto and headquarters of Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. The Protesters also marched to the Chinese Consulate in Toronto. China has been condemned across globe for its human rights violations on Uyghurs in Xinxiang and its annexation of Tibet. Its claims of authority over Hongkong have also been contested. Several countries including the US, Australia, UK and India have boycotted the games diplomatically.
