Property worth 500 million rupees gutted by fire in Nepal

Kathmandu (Nepal), Aug 08 (ANI): A fire broke in a building of Nepal’s internet service provider, Subisu Cablenet Pvt. Ltd in Kathmandu on Wednesday, which was located near the Prime Minister’s residence. Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s residence which lies about a kilometre away from the site of the incident was reported at around 1 PM. It took nearly one-and-a-half hours for the fire brigade, Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police to douse the fire. As per the police, about 200 staff members were present inside the building, which hosts the main server, and all were evacuated unharmed. An estimated two thousand litres of diesel was stocked inside barrels that were kept in the building premises to operate the generators. Details about the loss of property are yet to be ascertained but an estimated loss of around 500 million rupees has incurred.
