PM Modi meets his ‘little friend’ with 'Jaipur Foot'

Manila (Philippines), Nov 12 (ANI): After attending the opening ceremony of 31st ASEAN Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday visited Mahaveer Philippine Foundation and interacted with the child patients there. PM Modi also interacted with a nine-year-old kid Carlo Migel Silvano from Bulacan province. Carlo is one of thousands of Filipinos fitted with the famous 'Jaipur Foot', a rubber-based prosthetic leg for people with below-knee amputations. PM Modi used his Twitter account to show his affection with the little boy and termed him ‘little friend’, ‘“I want to be a policeman” my young friend told me…glad to see the Jaipur Foot giving wings to the aspirations of many youngsters like him.’, PM tweeted. Mahaveer Philippine Foundation, is a long running humanitarian cooperation programme between India and the Philippines. It was set up by the highly regarded Indian–origin Mayor of Manila Dr. Ramon Bagatsing.
