Patriotic fervour, cultural events mark India’s 75th Independence Day in Madagascar

Antananarivo (Madagascar), Aug 16 (ANI): Indian Embassy in Antananarivo hoisted ‘Tiranga’ as the nation marked its 75th Independence Day on 15th August. A string of cultural events were held to celebrate the occasion. A government initiative ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ aimed at strengthening nation through inclusive participation of all Indians was the theme of this year’s celebrations. The Embassy also held a traditional costume exhibition show that focused at diverse yet a unified India. Several key Malagasy officials attended the event. In a tweet, Malagasy President Andry Rajoelina congratulated PM Narendra Modi & all Indians. His statement underlined the deepening of bilateral ties between the two countries.
