New Delhi, November 11 (ANI): A devastating blast took place at Quetta Railway Station in Pakistan's Balochistan province on November 11. At least 24 people were killed and 40 sustained severe injuries in the deadly blast that took place at Railway Station. The Baloch Liberation Army, a separatist militant group, claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement emailed to Reuters. Quetta Commissioner Hamza Shafqat confirmed that as many as 16 soldiers were killed in the massive blast. Quetta is the capital of Balochistan, which is grappling with a surge in strikes by ethnic separatist militants, mainly BLA. Funeral prayers were also held in Pakistan on Nov 9 for soldiers killed in the blast in the city of Quetta. BLA seeks independence for Balochistan, a province of about 15 million people that borders Afghanistan to the north and Iran to the west. BLA is the biggest insurgent group battling the Pakistan Govt, saying it unfairly exploits the province's resources
