Op Samudra Setu: Indian High Commission in Maldives facilitates evacuation

Male (Maldives), May 08 (ANI): High Commission officials and volunteers were seen in full protective gear to discharge their duties in a safe and orderly manner for evacuation of Indians from Maldives under Operation Samudra Setu. Indian nationals arrived at the Ferry Terminal in Male to go through necessary checks and procedures as they prepare for evacuation by INS Jalashwa. The Navy has deployed ships for Operation Samudra Setu, which is part of the bigger ‘Vande Bharat Mission’. Apart from the Navy ships, national carrier Air India is also operating repatriation flights in the first week of Vande Bharat Mission which started on May 7 to bring back thousands of Indian nationals stranded abroad.
