Kathmandu (Nepal), Jan 21 (ANI): Nepal's Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Lekhraj Bhatta has claimed that the newly inaugurated Integrated Checkpost help in connecting Nepal with Indian Ports easing trade. Nepali Prime Minister K. P. Sharma Oli and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on Tuesday jointly inaugurated the Second Integrated Check Post at Biratnagar- Jogbani border point along Nepal- India border thorugh video conference. Lately handed over ICP is a shared structure at the bordering point of two countries, and is considered an important facility for trade logistics. It offers a common platform for traders to get customs clearance for the traded goods from one place. Apart from this, the ICP also offers services like immigration, banking, quarantine, warehouse, litigation, and parking yard under single roof, facilitating both importers and exporters. Along with the inauguration of the ICP, Prime Ministers of both the nations also witnessed progress of pro-earthquake rebuilding of 50,000 private houses in Gorkha and Nuwakot districts of Nepal. India and Nepal have agreed to build ICPs along both sides of the border to facilitate two-way trade and movement of people.
